THE 48 HOURS FOLLOWING YOUR LOSS

Here is what should happen...

BARRICADES

The fire or police department will ask you to secure your building, which you have probably agreed to do by the time you read these lines.  This consists in barricading the windows and exits that were smashed in or placing one or more guards on the site, until the barricading can take place.

EMERGENCY MEASURES

In addition to the barricades, your insurance compagny expects you to take all necessary measures to limit damage to the building as much as possible.  These measures may include protection against freezing (plumbing), cheking the electricity and installing backup heating and/or lighting if necessary.

IMMEDIATE PERSONAL NEEDS

When you inform your insurance compagny of the loss it will assign you a claims adjuster* who will contact you as soon as possible in order to deal with your claim and inform you about your relocation, your clothing and food, until you can return to your home.

CONSTRUCTION PRÉCELLENCE

We take charge of your problem.  We immediately inform our appraiser and our production department and we start discussions with your insurance compagny (adjuster and/or appraiser).

PERSONAL BELONGINGS THAT ARE DAMAGED AND/OR BEYOND REPAIR

Immediately after the loss and before we start the repairs, you will have to make a list of all your belongings that are damaged and/or beyond repair.
